OPEN BUDGET SURVEY REPORT 2021 (UGANDA)

Uganda Debt Network (UDN) partnered with International Budget Partnership (IBP) to spearhead the 8th Open Budget Survey (OBS) Assessment Exercise in Uganda. This survey is carried out every two years and in 2021 the OBS survey was conducted and covers 120 countries.

OBS is an independent, comparative and fact-based research that uses internationally accepted criteria to assess public access to central government budget information; formal opportunities for the public to participate in the national budget process; and the role of budget oversight bodies, such as parliament and auditor general in the budget process.

The 2021 OBS results study report was presented by UDN during a partnership event with United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Uganda together with IBP and in close collaboration with Uganda’s Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development (MoFPED)on Tuesday 12th July 2022, at MoFPED conference hall.
