You and your organization can make a difference by becoming a member, supporting the work of the organization and taking part in the programmes. UDN believes in participatory decision-making and local governance with equal opportunity for all persons irrespective of gender, age, colour, ethnicity, political opinion, race, creed or religion, social, economic standing or disability.
UDN has been the leading organization on the anti-corruption campaign in Uganda since 2000 having been a founding member of the Anti-Corruption Coalition. UDN works closely with people at the grassroots and has facilitated them to form grassroots anti-corruption coalitions. UDN has instituted the most effective Civil Society Anti-Corruption Public Education Campaign using local radios and other media. The benefits from this campaign are beginning to bear fruit as more Local Government strive to improve the quality and delivery of services.
Benefits to the members
All registered and paid members eligible to attend the Annual General Meeting. However, for purposes of election, only full members are eligible to stand and be elected to office. In addition all the registered and paid members are entitled to a complimentary copy of all UDN publications. These include the following (please tick whichever you would like to receive). New Publications are sent out as they are printed.
Endowment Fund
UDN strives to achieve financial self-reliance. UDN has instituted an Endowment Fund Policy to collect funds from supporters, sponsors and other stakeholders. The funds are to be invested in high interest bank accounts or other income sources so that only interest is annually ploughed back into UDN programmes.
You can be part of this process by contributing annually to UDN Endowment Fund. For a start, all registered full members will in addition to an annual subscription fee be required to give a once off contribution to the endowment fund. However, it is expected that all the individuals and institutions that support the cause of UDN will contribute to build the endowment fund.
Membership Structure
With effect from January 2004, the membership categories and the fees structure have been revised. These are intended to take advantage of the new dynamic challenges that UDN is faced with. We therefore invite Old and New members to participate in this dynamic membership structure. Old members are only required to upgrade their membership by paying the appropriate fees. New members need start by filling in the forms, identifying the type of membership required and submitting them to the Secretariat (see address below) together with the necessary fees.

Honorary Members
In practice, honorary membership is by invitation. However, persons and institutions that support and share in the objectives of UDN are encouraged to make a contribution to the endowment fund. The supporters are institutions, organizations, business corporations and individuals who believe in the cause for which UDN stands and want to support the work of the organization. The contributions from such persons are used to subsidize the organization's costs especially in increasing the participation of the people at the grassroots in decision making processes within and outside the organization such as at Annual Conference, Annual General Meeting, international conferences and others and also to build internal structures and systems within the organization.
Method of Payment
Payment can be both by cheque or cash in Ug. Shs. All cheques should be written in the names of Uganda Debt Network. Cash or cheque payments must be paid at the UDN Secretariat Offices and a receipt is obtained. A form duly filled and signed by the applicant must accompany all Payments.
Members who pay for three years in advance receive a discount of 15%. This means that when you are submitting the registration forms and payment you deduct the discount amount. In case payment is received without deduction, the amount is calculated as a calculation to the endowment fund.
Please note that only paid members are ordinarily invited to the Annual General Meeting and are eligible to vote or be voted.
