Success stories

We have been carrying out monitoring in the district since 2004 and a lot of changes have been noticed in the community. We currently operate in six four sub-counties of Nabukalu, Muterere, Kapyanga and Buyinja. We organize sub-county and district dialogues where we discuss findings from the field. We monitor health centres, roads, universal primary education, water and sanitation among others. They forward the reports to the district who then respond to the complaints raised. Bravo UDN!s!

PMCs monitor work in the district

Uganda Debt Network launched the Community Based Monitoring and Evaluation System (CBMES) in the district to involve grassroots people in monitoring poverty reduction programmes and performance of government expenditure in service delivery. The pilot was carried out several other months to test the usefulness of the system to the community in monitoring effectiveness of government service delivery.

The programme is operational in the sub-counties of Nabukalu, Muterere, Kapyanga and Buyinja
