ABOUT UGANDA DEBT NETWORK WHO WE ARE Uganda Debt Network (UDN) is an advocacy and lobbying coalition of NGOs, institutions and individuals formed in 1996. The network was formed as a result of civil society concerns that Uganda’s debt burden had reached unsustainable levels, which had adverse implications for social economic development of the country. WHAT WE DO UDN has now expanded its mandate to promote and advocate for pro-poor policies and full participation of poor people in influencing poverty focused policies, monitoring the utilisation of public resources and ensuring that borrowed and national resources are prudently managed in a transparent manner. UDN BOARD The UDN Board is the policy-making organ of the network and is elected every two years. It works closely with the secretariat to develop strategies for effective implementation of the programmes and activities contained in the Strategic Advocacy Plan.
